Dufferin/Southgate
Dufferin is located in the south west sector of the city of Kamloops. The area is a mixture of older and newer homes with a variety of housing options from condos to executive, single family homes. Within a short drive by vehicle or transit, is the largest shopping mall in Kamloops; Aberdeen Mall. Also located in the immediate area is Chapters, Costco, Canadian Tire and a variety of restaurants and services. Thompson Rivers University is accessible by a short transit ride.
The largest municipal park in the Province, Kenna Cartwright is located in Dufferin, encompassing over 800 hectares. The park is named in honour of Kenna Cartwright, former Councillor and Mayor of Kamloops, and long-time supporter of parkland preservation.
SCHOOLS

HISTORY
Created in 1971, Dufferin was originally its own municipality. In 1973, the municipality was amalgamated with the City of Kamloops.
